hi all. I have a 53 plate mondeo 1.8lx - 210 000 miles a few weeks ago it started engine number check cutting out, it went to the garage and was diagnosed engine number check with low fuel pressure and would require a new pump. this was changed and the car ran great for two days and again it losing power under load. it is now driving but cannot engine number check open the accelerator or it loses all pressure for example, 1st gera hits 6000 revs, second gear wont hit 4000 and so on. it has had the following, replacement fuel pump ( times three now to rule out pump failure) new fuel filter voltage to pump checked under load - constant 13.78v recorded replaced wiring loom under seat just to be sure replaced injectors replaced fuel rail, my original rail was the one without the vacuum pipe, the new one has a vacuum pipe and schroeder valve on it replaced spark plugs and oil removed inlet maifold, cleaned, checked for damaged to the infamous engine number check inlet flaps all vacuum pipes checked for cracks and air leaks exhaust diconnected before cat and driven to rule out blockage - (catalyst was recently replaced) egr valve removed and blanking plate put in to rule it out thermostat removed engine number check and tested. i have read that the pm uses different sensors to regulate the amount of fuel required, couls a faulty sensor engine number check be causing low fuel pressure? is there any other sensors which may give a fakse pressure reading? cud it be the crank sensor engine number check causing it? I am slowly running out of ideas to what it could be, so any advice given will be greatly appreciated stuart.

Most of the parts and work you have done could have been avoided by use of a diagnsotic check. e.g. if you can get the short term fuel trim in the live data of the diagnostic tool this will show what is happening with the air to fuel ratio. Does the upstream oxygen sensor switch correctly? What is the reading on the second one? You seem to have gone at this a bit back to front! As you are now beginning engine number check to realise, the pcm relies engine number check on the sensors inputs engine number check to alter the fuelling to suit all conditions. A poor or faulty airflow sensor could cause this but until you see the short term fuel trim and 2nd oxygen sensor reading you won't know. The airflow sensor is one of the main parameters for the load on the engine so it needs to be checked correctly.
